CARRIE
Carrie entered the construction field in 1997. She read an ad in the Detroit Journal, that the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsperson’s were starting an apprentice class. She decided that office life was not for her, and took the test. Three weeks later she started a tile apprenticeship. With the economic downturn in 2007, she relocated to Austin TX to work for a building materials manufacturer. She relocated back to the Detroit area in 2018, and in 2022 quit her corporate job to work full-time at the company she and Jeff started in 2005. When not working, she spends time making haberdashery for pets under the brand Arsenal of Dogocracy.
Jeff
Jeff has been working in the construction industry nearly 30 years. He began as a Carpenter’s Helper at a young age. He continued to work as a carpenter until 2007, when he moved to Austin TX. His skills lead him into jobs as an operations manager in the solar industry. He made the trek back to Michigan in 2018, and has not looked back. When he isn’t working, he spends time exploring Detroit and working on passion projects, such as custom guitar stands.
